  1. 1. Rapsodo MLM2PRO SIG8 package: best overall under $5,000

    Best for
Most home golfers who want measured spin, a full enclosure and a smaller room footprint
    Price from
$3,349.99 with a 5 x 5 ft mat ($3,499.99 before the fall sale); Rapsodo Premium $199.99 a year after the trial

Shop Indoor Golf listed this package at $3,349.99 on 19 October 2026, $150 off its $3,499.99 price. You get the MLM2PRO, three Callaway RPT balls, the SIG8 enclosure with an impact screen, a 5 x 5 ft hitting mat, landing turf and a choice of projector. The MLM2PRO is a radar unit that sits 6.5 to 8.5 feet behind the ball, so your room needs a little more than 14 feet of depth. Spin numbers and GSPro or E6 play need Rapsodo Premium, which PlayBetter lists at $199.99 a year, $329.99 for two years or $599.99 for life.

  2. 2. Garmin Approach R10 SIG DIY package: cheapest full enclosure

    Best for
Handy buyers on a tight budget who can buy pipe at a hardware store and add their own mat
    Price from
$1,449.98 (8'4" x 8'4" size) up to $2,049.98 for the largest sizes; frame pipe and mat not included

This is the lowest-priced way we found to get an impact screen and enclosure around a launch monitor. The $1,449.98 kit includes the Garmin R10, an impact screen, black side panels, sandbags, foam padding and the frame connectors. It does not include the pipe frame (you buy 1-inch EMT pipe locally or add a pre-cut set) or a hitting mat, and the page does not clearly list a projector. Garmin Golf costs $99.99 a year or $9.99 a month for virtual courses.

  3. 3. Square Golf SIG8 package: best for no yearly software fee

    Best for
Indoor-only golfers who want a camera unit beside the ball and want to bring their own projector
    Price from
    $3,199.99 with a 5 x 5 ft mat ($3,699.99 compare-at); projector not included

This package uses Square Golf’s indoor-only launch monitor (the page does not call it the Omni), plus the SIG8 enclosure, impact screen, a 5 x 5 ft mat and landing turf. Shop Indoor Golf has taken the projector out of the price so you can choose or reuse one. The page lists 10 included courses, 1,000 welcome credits and links to GSPro and E6 Connect, and it showed the shortest ship time we saw: 3 to 5 business days. Camera units sit beside the ball, so you need no space behind you.

  4. 4. Garmin Approach R10 SIG10 package: best wide screen for a low price

    Best for
Golfers with a 12-foot-wide room who want a bigger 10-foot screen and a projector in the box
    Price from
    $3,599.99 with a 5 x 5 ft mat ($3,699.99 compare-at); $4,249.99 with a 4 x 10 ft mat

The SIG10 frame is 10‘10” wide and 8‘4” high, with a viewable screen of 10‘1” x 7‘7”. Shop Indoor Golf says its bundles include a projector by default (the page does not name the model) and lists a 12-foot-wide, 9-foot-high, 12-foot-deep room as the minimum, with 15 x 10 x 15 feet recommended. The R10 itself is the cheapest monitor here, but it sits 6 to 8 feet behind the ball, so depth matters.

  5. 5. SkyTrak ST MAX SIG8 package: best for camera ball data plus radar club data

    Best for
Right-handed golfers who want SkyTrak's own course packs and face-angle data in a compact room
    Price from
    $3,895 with a 5 x 5 ft mat ($5,045 compare-at); SkyTrak plans $99.99 to $599.99 a year

The priciest pick still comes in under $4,000. It pairs the ST MAX (a photometric camera for ball data and dual Doppler radar for club data) with the SIG8 enclosure, premium screen, mat, landing turf and a choice of projector. Shop Indoor Golf says no membership is included; SkyTrak’s own page offers a free year of Core (Foresight) with an ST MAX purchase, so ask the dealer whether that applies. The ST MAX warranty is 6 months or 25,000 shots, and SkyTrak lists no GSPro or E6 support.

  6. 6. Square Omni Garage package: best for a garage you still park in

    Best for
Garage owners who need the screen to roll up into the ceiling after each session
    Price from
    $3,599.99 (8-foot-wide garage, 7-foot screen) to $4,099.99 (16-foot garage, 14-foot screen)

This package pairs the Square Omni with a G-TRAK retractable screen that rolls up with a remote, a 6 x 10 ft landing turf and a 25-foot HDMI cable. The product details name an Optoma ZW350ST short-throw projector, but another line on the same page says the projector is sold separately, so confirm before you order. The page also still showed a pre-order notice for the Omni. Choose the screen width that matches your garage.

The best golf simulator under $5,000 for most people is the Rapsodo MLM2PRO SIG8 package at $3,349.99: it includes a full enclosure, impact screen, mat and measured spin. If your budget is tighter, the Garmin R10 SIG DIY kit starts at $1,449.98, and if you want no yearly fee for third-party software, look at the Square Golf SIG8 package at $3,199.99.

We compared complete home simulator packages, not launch monitors on their own. Every price below was read on Shop Indoor Golf’s product pages on 19 October 2026, with membership prices from SkyTrak’s own plans page and PlayBetter’s MLM2PRO page on the same day. We have not set up these packages ourselves, so the page is labeled as researched. See how we research and rate products.

If you only want the launch monitor, start with our best golf simulator for home list instead.

What a golf simulator under $5,000 really costs in year one

The package price is not the whole bill. Most launch monitors need a membership for full course play or third-party software, and simulator software such as GSPro is sold on its own.

Package Package price Membership for year one Year-one total before software
Garmin R10 SIG DIY $1,449.98 + frame pipe + mat Garmin Golf $99.99 a year About $1,550 plus pipe and mat
Square Golf SIG8 $3,199.99 + projector None listed by Shop Indoor Golf $3,199.99 plus a projector
Rapsodo MLM2PRO SIG8 $3,349.99 Rapsodo Premium $199.99 a year after the trial $3,549.98
Garmin R10 SIG10 $3,599.99 Garmin Golf $99.99 a year $3,699.98
SkyTrak ST MAX SIG8 $3,895 $0 if SkyTrak’s free Core year applies; Core (Foresight) is $299.99 a year after $3,895 to $4,194.99

Two price conflicts to know about. Shop Indoor Golf’s SkyTrak pages list the Essentials plan at $129.99 a year, while SkyTrak’s own plans page showed $99.99 a year on 19 October 2026. And Shop Indoor Golf’s MLM2PRO SIG8 page mentions a 21-day Core trial, while its SIG10 page and PlayBetter both mention a 45-day Premium trial.

How we chose these golf simulator packages

  • Complete setups only. Each pick includes a launch monitor plus an impact screen and an enclosure or retractable screen. Net-only bundles were left out.
  • Under $5,000 with the standard mat. The packages that offer a 4 x 7 ft mat also stay under $5,000 with it.
  • Facts from the seller’s own pages. We used the product pages as they read on 19 October 2026 and say so where a page contradicts itself.
  • Different rooms and budgets. We picked one package each for tight budgets, deep rooms, shallow rooms, wide rooms and garages.

Which golf simulator under $5,000 fits your room?

The launch monitor decides how deep your room must be. Radar units such as the Garmin R10 and MLM2PRO sit behind you; camera units such as the Square and SkyTrak sit beside the ball.

Package Seller’s minimum room (W x L x ceiling) Extra depth behind the ball
SIG8 packages (Rapsodo, Square, SkyTrak) 10 x 16 ft, 9 ft ceiling (size chart) Rapsodo: 6.5-8.5 ft; Square and SkyTrak: none
Garmin R10 SIG10 12 ft wide, 9 ft ceiling, 12 ft deep (product page); 12 x 18 ft (size chart) 6-8 ft
Garmin R10 SIG DIY 8‘4” 10 x 16 ft, 9 ft ceiling (size chart) 6-8 ft

Shop Indoor Golf’s product page and its own size chart disagree on SIG10 depth (12 feet against 18 feet). We would plan on the larger figure if you use a radar unit. For the full maths, read our guide to how much space you need for a golf simulator.

How to choose the right golf simulator package

  1. Measure first. Width, depth and ceiling height decide the enclosure size, and Shop Indoor Golf charges return shipping and a restocking fee if a package does not fit.
  2. Decide on radar or camera. A radar unit behind the ball needs extra depth. A camera unit beside the ball works in a shorter room but must be moved for left-handed golfers.
  3. Check the projector line. Some packages include one, some do not. A missing projector can add several hundred dollars.
  4. Add the yearly fee. Over three years, a $199.99 membership adds about $600 to the price.
  5. Compare the monitors. Our Garmin R10 vs Rapsodo MLM2PRO comparison and SkyTrak vs Garmin R10 comparison cover the data each unit gives you.

Who should skip a golf simulator package under $5,000

Skip these packages if your room is under 9 feet high and you swing a driver: every enclosure here is 8‘4” tall and the seller warns that some swings need more than 9 feet. Also skip them if you just want range practice in the garage; a launch monitor and a net cost far less.

Frequently asked questions about golf simulator packages under $5,000

Can you get a good golf simulator for under $5,000?

Yes. Every package on this list costs under $4,100 with the standard mat, and each includes a launch monitor, an impact screen and an enclosure or retractable screen. The main extras to budget for are a yearly membership, simulator software such as GSPro, and a laptop or tablet.

What is the cheapest full golf simulator package?

The cheapest we found was the Garmin R10 SIG DIY package at $1,449.98 on 19 October 2026. It leaves out the pipe frame and the hitting mat, so add those to the price. The cheapest complete package with frame and mat was the Square Golf SIG8 at $3,199.99, without a projector.

Is a projector included in golf simulator packages?

Not always. Shop Indoor Golf’s Square Golf SIG8 and SIG10 pages say the projector was taken out of the package, while its Garmin R10 SIG10 page says bundles include one by default. Check the projector line on each product page before you compare prices.

How much room do I need for a golf simulator under $5,000?

Plan on about 10 to 12 feet of width, a 9-foot ceiling and 12 to 18 feet of depth. Shop Indoor Golf’s size chart lists a 10 x 16 ft room for the SIG8 enclosure and 12 x 18 ft for the SIG10, both with 9-foot ceilings. Radar units that sit behind the ball need the deeper end of that range.

What else do I need to buy with a golf simulator package?

Usually a laptop, tablet or PC to run the software, a membership, and sometimes a projector mount and HDMI cable. GSPro and E6 Connect are sold separately. Shop Indoor Golf charges buyers return shipping and a restocking fee on its 30-day returns, so measure your room before you order.
